The Method
Each fragrance gets multiple wears before anything is written about it, not a single sniff at the counter. For a fragrance that means multiple wears across different days and weather, not one sniff at the counter. For a cigar it means a full stick, lit properly, taken down to the band. For tech and desk gear it means putting it in the actual setup it was bought for and living with it.
Every fragrance review here follows the same shape:
- The Opening – what you actually smell in the first spray, in order.
- The Dry Down – what the heart and base do over the next few hours.
- The Accords – cross-checked against three or more databases, never one.
- Longevity and Projection – the numbers, and where the sources disagree that disagreement is stated.
- Where and When to Wear – including the seasonal lean and who it suits.
- The Verdict – a score, a badge, and the one sentence that decides it.
On scores and dupes
The score at the end of each review is on a 100 point scale, and it comes with the reasoning attached. Where a fragrance is a clone of something else, the review names what it imitates, how close reviewers score the resemblance, and where the clone gives ground. If the data is thin, the review says the data is thin rather than dressing it up.
Why the site has affiliate links
Some reviews carry an Amazon link. If you buy something through one of those links, WithMagnum earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes a verdict and it never buys a better score. If a product is not worth your money, the review says so, and there are reviews on this site that tell you to skip the expensive version.
